Welcome to Paper Clip Komics
This blog is dedicated to Paper Clip Komics under Hxero Audio Visual Electronics Center.
It's been a while since I've plan to release independent comics to show my love for the craft. When I was in college I became a member of Art Co. and eventually became the president 'till I graduated college back in 2002. There being part of the club I met Mylene, Ruel, and Darwin. We discover that we all have a common love of comics, thus, we decided to create our own monthly comics. We want to have our own independent comic book.
Being college students we were very occupied with our study loads which hinder us in focusing in our dream to release our indie. I've graduated engineering and after that our dream seems to fade away,
When I was with Panasonic (2003), I became a member of Komikero Artist Group headed by Mr. Gerry Alanguilan and it instantly ignite (again) my passion to become a comic artist. Then, my mom's friend Oj Odruña (who is also an artist) asked me to draw her story and release it as an independent comic book. It was then that the Toy Convention (ToyCon) 2004 is fast approaching so I created the comic book to release it on the same date as the ToyCon will be held. I barely made it. I sold the comic book and all copies have been sold out. That was the "Children of the Dam. "That day I became a comic artist. I was a comic book artist in my own right.
After a year since the released of "Children of the Dam" book, Ruel, Mylene, Darwin and I were into comics again, this time we became artists of the comics version of "Mondo Manila." Each of us were assigned a chapter of the story. Being able to be a part of that project, I talked them into creating our own indie comics like what we had planned during college days. They agreed and I was so happy.
This time (finally) we will be releasing an every-other-month independent comics unde Paper Clip Komics. The release date will be on Oct. 21, 2006 at the Komics Convention (KomiCon) in UP Diliman, Q.C. That day Ruel will be releasing his first issue for his own created comics entitled "Third Worl Project." I will also be releasing my own created comics, "Mutya and the Book of Answers." I do hope that people will embrace our love and passion for the craft.
In the next issue, 4 more artist will be joing us so keep on reading and visiting this blog for announcements.
Welcome to Paper Clip Komics and God bless us all,
Henry
